New Year, New Me – Why Are New Year Diets Doomed to Fail?

Firstly, new year is a great time to start a diet. You may have a new goal or new years resolution but it’s a time when the slate is swiped clean so to speak.

But typically, why do these diets last for a short amount of time?

  • They are too drastic
  • Eating food that you don’t enjoy
  • Too much exercise
  • Belief that cardiovascular training is the only way to lose body fat
  • Unrealistic goal setting
  • Loss of motivation when weight loss slows down
